When I started assembling this, I was worried it would be really flimsy, but I was pleasantly surprised. The instructions could have been a bit clearer. These days, most of us are getting used to assembling our own furniture. All the hardware and tools are included. You just need to keep looking at the pictures and how everything is numbered, lettered, and laid out. The biggest disappointment was a huge gash in one of the backing pieces that I didn't notice until it was too late. I think it'll be covered by what I put on the shelves. Everything was packaged well, so it must have happened during assembly. By the time I put it together, I had passed the return date. Also, the screws for the separate shelving show on the long side panels on the outside, which might be a concern. Overall, it's the perfect size for the room I'm putting it in and I actually came back to order another one. As suggested in other reviews, be prepared to attach it to the wall with the safety hardware. It'll tip easily if you don't. For the price, it meets the need for being functionally attractive in my small sewing room.
